Spent all night tossing and turning with a sore throat. gotta work on the Bloggers Unite event resources tonight and take the dog to the vet. hopefully i can find some time to do some grocery shopping so i can make this delicious general tso’s recipe. All in all though I don’t see much getting done today.
The weeks have gotten the best of me, as it has almost been a month since my last post. The goal was once a week, maybe once every other week, but i can’t even keep up with that. The good news is that i have much more to share since last time. Most notably my new car:
There is something to be said about german engineering, as my new Volkswagen Passat has just about everything you would ever need in a car and more. It’s a great balance of luxury and sport providing me with a smooth ride on top of its 200 hp turbocharged engine. Some of my favorite features include: a slot in the drivers side door jam for hidden umbrella storage, automatic wipers and light, front and rear parking sensors, a little hook in the trunk to hold groceries and the key fob that you use to start the car as well as unlock it.
Flight Of The Conchords – This record actually came in just the other day and I’m glad they decided to put it out on vinyl. They are probably the best 2 man novelty band since Tenacious D. If you haven’t seen the TV show, you need to.
Conor Oberst – I’d heard about Connor touring around under his own name and playing a new set of songs, but i didn’t see this coming, he is putting out a new solo record on a label other than the creek. Here’s to hoping we see some M. Ward appear on the new record.
How Not To Modify Your Mercury Cougar – I lost about two hours of my life looking at photos and comments of a guy who filled the back seat of his Cougar with logitech computer speakers and rigged it to his car stereo.
The Tiger Beat – Anyone who knows me at all knows that BlogCatalog is pretty much my life. I work on/off from 8AM-2AM everyday talking to the community and fixing the place up. Some have called it a ‘sickness.’ There are tons of BlogCatalog related things that i have wanted to share over the past few months, but could never find the right place to do so. The Tiger Beat is my answer to that, it’s an inside look at what is going on in and around BlogCatalog.
Trapped in an Elevator – The New Yorker has a video and story of a man who was trapped in an elevator for 41 hours. A great read.
I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since my last post. This blogging stuff is hard, i don’t know how anyone can do multiple posts a day. The BlogCatalog team all flew up to L.A. for some Tony Robbins seminar/brainwashing/thing so i may just kick back for few days and keep an extra eye on things until they get back.
About a month ago i won a box of old records from a seller on Ebay. Sadly, the seller’s mother died around the end of the auction and it wasn’t until last week that he was able to ship out my records. When the paper box of records arrived today i was a bit surprised to see what 99 cents can get you on ebay. All in all my record collection is now 7 LPs and 18 78s heavier. The lot of records turned out to be quite diverse, i think it was the Star Wars album that made all the waiting worth it:
MrBaconpants.com – I found this blog through the BlogCatalog Social Search about a week back. I must say that I am surprised with the quality and consistency that this guy can blog about bacon. Anyone up for a late night bacon run? hit up my cell!
Jake and Amir – I briefly found Jake and Amir through one of the gawker blogs a while back, but have spent the last few weeks trying to remember their names. Alas, my brother came to the rescue; The things he chooses to remember baffles me.
My First BC Interview? – In a strange turn of events I received an IM the other evening asking to be intereviewed. Why someone would want to interview me is beyond me, but i did my best to be interesting. You be the judge.
Antony Berkman – Tony’s love of widgets has finally inspired him to start a blog to put them on.
I assure you all that a new wrath is coming someday. The demise of music site Oink has made it impossible for me to continue on making monthly playlists and made discovering new albums quite the chore. It’s quite amazing how music piracy actually made me spend more on records that i would not have otherwise. But alas the well has gone dry and i am still scurrying to find a new source.
So i move forward in finding a new format for the wrath. Album reviews? Music news? Technology? Social Media? Who knows. If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see in the new wrath, please leave a comment.
